Workshops
-Dance & Injury-

The purpose of these workshops is to give dancers and performers a deeper education of the human body and its relationship with movement and injuries.
These workshops are designed to be interactive, participants will be required to draw on each other’s body using body painting colors as well as interact with thera-band to understand the power and elasticity of the muscles. At last, they will discover how to use their body through dance and improvisation.
Subjects such as anatomy and biomechanics are fundamental topics among this matter. We will learn general anatomy of the main joints of the body and together we will explore the biomechanics of movement.
We will also look at injury prevention and reduction. As a matter of fact, dancers get injured all the time and most of their injuries are non-traumatic (e.g.: muscle strain, repetitive stress injury, minor ligament sprain etc.). Knowledge about our body and how to react when such events occur is the only way forward.
